Calder Burgess is an ex-cop forced to retire after an unfortunate shooting accident that blew out his knee.  He has turned to trying to make a living at writing and so far has been scraping by at best.  When the assignment of a lifetime lands in his lap he is hard pressed to turn it down.  But will he be able to make it in the world of bondage and dominance?

The “Black Widow” is lonely and is looking for a little fun to liven her life up.  Since she has a strict rule of not sleeping with her submissives she is forced to live with a large battery bill to keep herself sated.  When she meets the delectable “observer” she is highly intrigued and extremely turned on.

The job offer of a lifetime that may well lead to not only the article being published in Psychology Today magazine, but maybe even a book deal, just plopped itself right in Calder Burgess’s lap.  After reading up on the Internet and checking out books from the library on the BDSM, bondage and dominance community, he is extremely interested.  Contacting an old college buddy who he had known was into such stuff, he finds himself at a BDSM party staring at the most desirable woman he’s ever laid eyes on.  When she offers to take him back to her place and answer any questions he has concerning the BDSM community, he can’t help but follow her lead, even if that lead pulls him into her bed for the best, mind-blowing sex he has ever experienced.  The only problem is that as he is pulled deeper and deeper into the BDSM scene, he finds himself falling head over heels in love with Kelly, the Black Widow, and is unable to tell her who or what he is.  When she finds out he is a journalist out to write a story, will she accept that he isn’t out to ruin her or drag her or her friends through the wringer?  Or will Calder be out on his rear faster than he can say, “Yes, Mistress”?

My mind and body were so intrigued and blazing with fire the entire ride.  I was completely blown away by the insight into such a hush hush secret society.  Lena Austin drew me in and made me want to beg for more.  Her words brought such erotic and sexy scenes to mind that it was all I could do not to jump in the nearest shower and turn the ice-cold water on high.  This book deserves more than the highest rating I can give, but since I must keep to the standards, I give it FIVE hearts hands down.  I look forward to reading more of Ms. Austin’s work.  Amazing!!
